H Palanibelu, 20, dari Perkampungan Cenderawasih, dan seorang lagi penunggang, Muhammmad Roodzi Yusuf, 17, kedua-duanya mati di tempat kejadian akibat cedera parah di kepala.
Timbalan Ketua Polis Daerah Kuantan, Superintendan Zulkifli Taha, berkata dalam kejadian 8.30 pagi itu, sebuah Proton Wira yang dipandu laju itu datang dari arah belakang, tiba-tiba hilang kawalan lalu merempuh kedua-dua motosikal berkenaan.
Pemandu kereta itu cedera parah dan kini dirawat di Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan di sini, katanya.
KUANTAN: Two motorcyclists were killed when a car ploughed into their motorcycles from behind at KM5 of Jalan Kuantan-Gambang, this morning.
The driver of the car whose identity has yet to be determined was seriously
injured and later sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here.
H. Palanibelu, 20, from Perkampungan Cenderawasih who was riding on his
motorcycle and Muhammad Roodzi Yusuf, 17, who riding on another motorcycle, died
at the scene from serious head injuries.
Kuantan deputy police chief, Supt Zulkifli Taha said during the incident at
about 8.30am, both the motorcycles were heading to Gambang from here when the
car rammed into their motorcycles.
"The speeding Proton Wira, which was heading in the same direction, suddenly
went out of control and rammed into the two motorcycles. The car then went off
the road and hit a tree," he said when contacted, here, today.
Zulkifli said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) Road
Transport Act 1987. -- Bernama
