SEREMBAN: A mother and her son died after the lorry they were traveling in skidded and overturned at KM252.9 of the North-South Expressway near Senawang toll plaza here, this evening.
A police spokesman said the victims who died of severe head and body injuries were Dalila Hashim, 40 and her son Che Najwan Haniff who was 13 months old.

During the 5.45pm incident, the lorry that was driven by Dalila's husband, Che Rosdi Ahamad, 33, was heading north.

"Initial investigations showed that a car had hit the right side of the lorry, causing Che Rosdi to lose control and resulting in the lorry spinning before skidding and overturning into a drain at the side of the highway," he said.
He said the woman and her six-month-old baby were thrown out of the lorry and died at the spot.

Their bodies were later sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for post-mortem and Che Rosdi who was injured was warded at the same hospital.
